All luggage must include the traveler’s contact information.

Passenger information must be present on both carry on and checked baggage. Please ensure your luggage id tags contain current information, including a cell phone number. Although cell phones must be turned off during flight, they can be used in the terminal. This will help the airport staff quickly contact you if necessary. Is your contact information legible? Often times handwritten id tags cannot be properly read by our virtually literate staff. A current business card is a great addition to your contact information. Business cards are often current and easy to read. And they provide alternate contact information if you cannot be reached using personal contact information.

Are the luggage tags securely fastened? Of course, your bags will be handled with great care and respect, but tags not securely fastened often come off during travel.

Hard plastic id tags help prevent your contact information from being ripped or shredded while your bag is gentled handled during travel. But please do not use metal luggage tags. Although stylish and rugged, metal id tags can damage the high speed automated equipment that gently handles your luggage.
